Spinifex florescence by

Spinifex is a genus of perennial coastal grasses that are one of the most common plants that grow in sand dunes along the coasts of Australia. These grasses are an important part of the entire sand dune ecosystem as they play a vital role in stabilising and reducing the movement of wind blown sand. Four species of the genus Spinifex are recognised in the world with three being indigenous to Australia.

This is the straight from the camera version (except for cropping) of the previously posted Spinifex standing tall

About NaturalCultural

I’m an amateur photographer. I do it for fun, to identify animals and insects without having to capture them, I look for the patterns and small images in life and try to capture the spirit they portray. I make it up as I go.

My inspiration comes from within. My images may not be award winning however I can assure you I had fun getting it.

Congratulations! Your photo has been featured in “Boats, Beaches, Bays!”

This photo was chosen because it was of a very high quality and it captured exactly the sort of work that we feel should be displayed in the featured section of a coastal group.

  • George, thank you very much for the feature and believing the image worthy of such. Having it selected along with the other featured members is the best critique – thank you

  • Karin thank you so very much for that comment. I really like sharing the information and hope it enhances the experience of viewing my images. You should see plenty of this grass where you live.
