What Have You Been Up To?

Given that I haven’t loaded a single photo in ages I thought I’d post a journal about what I’ve been doing during this cold weather…

Did my second photography market and am extremely humbled by the comments and purchases of my work and really looking forward to the next one.

Then, my application to volunteer at the 2008 Homeless World Cup Soccer to be held at Fed Square in December was accepted. Teams from all over the world will come and play street soccer. The purpose of this is to help improve the lives and wellbeing of the disadvantaged and a large percentage of participants return to their homelands having achieved this and are able to turn their lives around. Note to streetscape photographers – this will be fun!

Today I gave blood for the first time. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time now because of the beautiful people who donated blood that helped keep my dad alive a bit longer and now (albeit a bit squeamish), I feel fantastic knowing that my contribution will assist in saving the lives of up to 3 people.

Now, I’m finalising my itinerary for a trip to Ayers Rock which is where I hope to take lots of photos!

So, even though my donation arm is a bit tender, winter hasn’t been all that bad for me.

Hope you’re all safe & warm.

Great to read your update. Its always nice to hear a little bit about the people you meet here! It sounds exciting your volunteer work, good on you. As for donating blood, I nearly pass out when I have a blood test lol! Wow, I’m so jealous you’re going to Ayres Rock, thats on my list to do down the track a little! I’m sitting here rolled up in my doona, its freezing cold, (11.23pm) I think today was the coldest on record on the gold coast. I have two days off now, I work Sun – Thurs…...yippee!!! Look forward to seeing your photos from the red centre!!

Hi Kathie, I was braver than I thought with the donation but I made sure I had a good lie down after! My mission this weekend is to get out and take some shots for the Natures Macro Canvas challenge!
