I painted this particular painting as a gift for a gentleman who stayed at the famous Petwood Hotel during World War II, when he was with 617 Sqdn “The Dambusters” as a Lancaster Bomber Pilot.
This beautiful hotel, based in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, England, was home to the world renowned 617 “Dambuster” Squadron, and having stayed there many times myself, it gave me such joy to paint this beautiful building as a present for such a wonderful gentleman. I only hope I have done justice to the wonderful building and beautifully maintained grounds!
The original painting is on 28 × 24 " Canvas Board. I have had some Ltd Edtn Prints taken off of the original (copies for sale through my website: www.mason-contemporary-arts.co.uk), and the very first hangs proudly in the Petwood Hotel!
Commissions of a similar nature are most welcome.
