Bite-size
Inspired by Karin Lau’s image Neon Alphabet
I hope I got your character right, Anne.
Bite-size belongs to the following groups:
Flash Fiction and WMGI stepped into the fluorescent light and studied the room. Round, white tables were spread across the checkered floor. Several characters occupied the red-backed chairs, hunched over their meals. One grizzled, old man gave me a calculated look followed by a small salute. I approached the counter.
“Hi there,” the host greeted me brightly, “Welcome to Flash Fiction. My name’s Anne. ”
The colorful lights caught my eye.
“What’s with the sign?” I asked, staring, as the letters of the alphabet glittered down at me.
Anne glanced back and said, “Oh, that’s our combo menu. Imagination is reality here.”
“Then, a burger, please. And a strawberry shake, too, if you don’t mind.”
“You got it.”
“Oh, and would you supersize that for me?”
Anne frowned, “Sorry, no can do. Only 150 words or less here. If it’s big you want, try A Novel Idea down the street a ways.”

Natella2020 replied
Thanks for the help, you were right about the .jpg part!
deliriousgirl
Yes go to the image and right click on it, then click on properties, then copy the url and be sure to get it all copied, then return to the description of the story and type in a ! before the url and after the url and your photo will show!
Natella2020 replied
It worked! I was copying the URL of the web page link. Thanks a million!
deliriousgirl
Be sure to NOT leave any spaces or it won’t work, hon!
deliriousgirl
Need any more help just holler at me, you doll you!!!
lianne
How very clever of you Natella – love this! As for the image problem – just make sure you have put a ! immediately before the web address of the image and immediately after the jpg! No spaces
Natella2020 replied
Thanks so much, Lianne, glad you could enjoy it. The image is up, I hope you get a look at it. I have heard about the exclamation points, but I was getting the wrong URL.
loramae
=O) Love your mind Natella!
Natella2020 replied
Thanks Loramae, glad it appealed to you!

That was great; short and amusing. And such tales are harder to do than an ordinary story, I think. They take more work to make them work. :) And it goes so well with the image. Now, someone needs to paint or draw the inside of the cafe…
Natella2020 replied
Thanks WA. They just need to take a look at our group to see the inside of the cafe, especially the meals that every member dishes out. It can be as disgusting or as delicious as anyone wants!
Del Millar
Good one Natella !!
Natella2020 replied
Thanks, Del, for your encouraging comments!
liesbeth
love it Natella.. i thought this was going to be a longer story but you had it all in about 150 words… made me curious what was going to be and then laughing out loud!!
Natella2020 replied
Thanks Liesbeth, happy it could make you laugh!
Anne van Alkemade
LOL. Nice one.
Natella2020 replied
Thanks Anne. This story has been incubating in my head for awhile. Unfortunately, 150 words doesn’t do any person justice. But I wanted to write something that reflects the group, as Flash Fiction is the first group I joined on RB and it got me back into writing.
filfil
This is really funny! Did you enter this for the avatar challenge?
Natella2020 replied
Thanks filfil. The avatar challenged ended with July. Besides that, Karin Lau (the artist) appears to have left redbubble, so I could hardly have collaborated with her.
jcmontgomery
This is GREAT !! Story. Picture. Everything!
Natella2020 replied
Thanks a lot, JC. It took me ages to get this down; I had only one sentence written for so long. I’m glad it finally made its debut. Now I need something original based on “retaliation”.
Karirose
Cute! :)
