Autumn Leaves--A Collaboration
This poem was written in collaboration the lovely, talented lady, IAmSam
Sammi’s are the bold-faced stanzas, mine are the plain-text ones. If you haven’t noticed (though you probably have), this is a series of haiku.
Your feedback is welcome, of course.

Hearts drop from on high to their
Final resting place
Beneath bare branches
Spreads the regal carpet of
Opportunity
For tree to slumber
As children gather its gift
Rejoicing in play
Back to bark, arms raised
Wishes rain in bright colors
Sky is no limit
Rosy cheeks, laughter
Ringing in the air, a call
Is borne on the wind
Sleep well, towers tall
Let your fair treasures fall in
Green orange gold red

Beautiful imagery, Natella. Wonderful symbolism.
Natella2020 replied
Thanks so much, Jen. It was a team effort.
Roger Sampson
Very nice you two :)) And Sammi, glad to see you springing forth. Natella, what is haiku??
Rog
Natella2020 replied
Thanks, Roger! Haiku is a poem form of three lines, numbering the syllables on each line to 5-7-5. It is known for its symbolism and grace, and I believe it is a Japanese art form.

Very nice, although I have to say the bold-faced stanzas are my favorite. Funny thing, I had a dream that I was the one who wrote them. Crazy, huh?
Natella2020 replied
Thanks Sam. That was a weird dream you had, but I’m not really surprised. I mean you share the same name. Actually, it was Aunt Sam who wrote it. You know, Uncle Sam’s wife.
Del Millar
Lovely, both of you ooxx
Natella2020 replied
Thanks for the very nice compliment, Del!
Paul (Quixote)...
Excellent writing. You both work well together
Natella2020 replied
Thanks, Paul, for the great compliment. It was fun to write.

What a fabulous collaboration – I’ve not seen this kind of thing before here on RB. Beautiful haiku stanzas that flow perfectly into one another.
Natella2020 replied
Thanks so much, Lianne. I figured it was about time for a writer-writer collaboration here on the Bubble. I’m glad the flow worked out, that was the difficult part.
Miri
this is really lovely, great imagery & very clever. i find haikus so difficult!!
Natella2020 replied
Thanks Miri. I find haiku extremely difficult also, I’ve been fidgety around it for so long. My first stanza here is probably only the second haiku I’ve ever written in my life. But I work better when faced with a challenge. ;o)
beast
this is a great peice natella, its refreshingly different and theres so much to be gained from each stanza
Natella2020 replied
Wow, Beast, thanks so much. I’m glad you were able to gain something from this, it is very rewarding to know.
