RedBubble Pirate Radio: Update

A couple of weeks ago (which seems like a lifetime online) we messed around with an idea called RedBubble Pirate Radio. People posted short recordings of their voices, dedicated their favourite tracks in tribute to other bubblers, read their poetry and grappled with basic sound recording technology. Since I last posted we’ve had more recordings including:

  1. Poetry from Paul Rees-Jones
  2. Some beautiful music from Tania Rose’s new album
  3. A Q&A radio style segment called Ask Artmonger (you can submit questions over here)

The main motivation behind it was so I could get to know bubblers a little better and to hear the voices of the people I speak to every day on the site. I’m keen to hear more … so I’m proposing we go for a round two.

So we’re looking for as many people as possible to make a recording for your watchlist and RB friends. Don’t forget to tag your journal entry with RedBubble Pirate Radio. Here are the recordings from those who have taken part already …

  1. Me
  2. Ms Najeroux
  3. The Lovely Rhana
  4. Robpixaday
  5. Matt Penfold
  6. RavenSoul
  7. Mel Brackstone
  8. Paul McClintock

Well, it’s starting off slowly Nat but it’s great to hear all these voices, Paul Rees-Jones’ voice is wonderful and the recording quality is great. I got a new mic and managed to make a better quality radio redbubble recording which I attached to my latest poem, a collaboration called Lorenzo’s Oils
