This photo of local children was taken on a small island off Cambodia in January 2008. The girl is holding her younger sister in such a grown up and mature way. I couldn’t see the mother in sight and think the children had more or less been left to look after themselves.

This is an excellent shot. Glad to hear some people still like doing darkroom work. I miss mine. This appears to be film and digital and very well processed and printed. You have a good eye for photography. Keep it up

Thanks for sharing this image. Children all over the world face so many real challenges …. hunger, disease, malnutrition…. HIV/AIDS….. You name it!

This immediately reminded me of the CCF (The Cambodian Children’s Fund) founded by Hollywood film executive Scott Neeson, who travelled to Cambodia on holiday in early 2003 and found his life changed by the desperate circumstances and unlikely courage of Phnom Penh’s most impoverished children.

    Check out the website:

In the experience is the awakening …… and we can bring these and so many millions of stories alive by sharing them for purposes of directional awareness.

I have 2 sons and like all those parents that have children …… we all pray that they never see the challenges these kids are facing not only in Cambodia but all over the world!

Its time to waken the Spirit of Compassion through images like these ……and do more….. they are our future for sure!

    Thanks for sharing Natalie!
