My paintings are almost like a day to day diary of feelings and moods. Because my work is not still life or landscapes it’s almost a mystery what each day will bring. My art is not a matter of choice for me but a way of expressing an impulse or emotion and not always something I have thought about beforehand or can rationalize afterwards.
Although my work is primarily abstract it is not a collection of blind brush strokes but more so what I feel is the correct balance of colour with the image on the canvas. With a vigorous use of colour and broad sweeping brush strokes I try to convey a sense of energy and movement that invite the viewer into the work in an attempt to catch their interest and stimulate the boundaries of their imagination as they gaze into the colour.
