Wow Doug, this is something else… Turimetta????I know where I’m going to get those star shots in future if it is (haha)
Thanks Sharon, yes its Turimetta its very handy and easy to park. I still dont have my settings exactly right. I need to try and get some more information out of Fstop.doug
It f8 I’d be at iso400, you will get more stars showing and they will all appear brighter.
If I remember that lens infinity focus isn’t where you can crank the focus ring to, you need to wind it back a smidgen.
There us no real trick, mystery, or guess work to this Mate. Your f stop/ ISO combination determines how the stars are recorded, once you have this right (test with a shortish exposure first untill you get a feel for it) you then play with your exposure time to get the foreground the way you want it. You can easily wind up the iso, open the aperture and take a meter reading excluding the sky. It’s the. Just a matter of working back to your previously determined iso fstop and calculating exposure required.
If you want longer trails just stack your images.
Btw- cool nights give less noise, sensor and associated electronics induced noise increases in proportion to operating temperature.
It’s all good fun!
Thanks for the info, I will give it a goDoug
