Thanks for that, the old 55-250 lens is pretty amazing. the best 300 dollars I have spentI bought a d7000 and an 18-105 on friday, I must say i am not that impressed. it really makes me appreciate the old 550d

I mainly use that one too – even for macro’s most of the time. I usually zoom to 250mm then stand back about 1 meter from the subject.
