To remember any city is to remember its icons, and these are two that Sydney is internationally renown for: The Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Also nestled beneath the pylons are the old Walsh Bay Finger Wharves at Dawes Point. Certainly not as iconic as their neighbours, the wharves do have heritage listing all the same; they’re an important part of the city’s maritime history as a working port. The yellow hues are symbolic of the warmth that is Sydney.

Each of these structures were built in the 20th Century and have their own relationship with Sydney and its harbour, purpose-built to serve the needs of the city. They are potent symbols of urban living, past and present.

Opening dates for each as follows:
Walsh Bay Finger Wharves – c.1915
Sydney Harbour Bridge – 1932
Sydney Opera House – 1973

(Alien Infrared B&W with white balance temperature shift.)
