Eastern City Skyline - Sydney CBD by

EASTERN CITY SKYLINE – SYDNEY CBD
(777 viewings – 17 favourites – 24MAY 2012)

The eastern skyline of Sydney’s CBD, taken from Taronga Zoo at Mosman, on the city’s Lower North Shore. I like this artwork simply because it has a ‘Gotham City’ feel to it, a dark side that all cities possess.

Photo taken with Canon IXUS 80 IS and edited with Lightzone. SIMPLICITY is my niche!

Original Image:

I love anything that is unusual, unique, or just plain odd, and that’s the sort of image I try to capture. I’m so far from being the world’s best photographer it’s not funny, but I do have the photographer’s ‘eye’ and am more than proficient at capturing the images I see in my world. Thanks for taking the time to view my portfolio. Feel free to leave a message and say G’day.

Very interesting photo, great job, keep up the good work, you have more talent than you think :-)

  • Thanks Jupiter. I’m still trying to find “my style”. It’s there somewhere, but yeah, I do like this one too :-)

    love the shadowing here

  • Thanks Ryan. I’ve seen a style similar to this somewhere before, I think of the New York skyline. I tried to get this one as close as possible to the photo I remember. Regardless, I do like this one.

    I love this one too.

  • Thanks again, Jan. This is one of my favourites. My photo “city warmth” was based on this photo. I’m pretty happy with both :-)

I love the treatment of this one also, very cool work!

  • thanks Damienne. This one was a surprise for me. I think it came out pretty well. It was a fluke, and I know that I’ve seen a similar style… somewhere, but this is the way that the editing went, and I just went with it :-)

Ah – I see this is the alternative version – amazing how a completely different feeling can be produced from the same image. I like this one too.

  • Thanks Rachael. This one has a totally different mood, but I do prefer the other :-)

Interesting duotone? effect. The colours are alive with light….eyecatching image!

  • Thanks very much Linda. I did another version of this photo… City Warmth. Can’t make up my mind which I prefer… but I like them both :-)

    Great work Neil!

  • Many thanks Clare. I’m so glad you like it. It scrubbed up pretty well I think, and the end result certainly wasn’t intentional. That’s just the way it grew :-)
