Abstract photo of Sydney’s CBD from Taronga Zoo at Mosman, on the city’s North Shore. The soft yellow hues are symbolic of the warmth that is Sydney.

(Abstract/Watercolours effect. Alien Infrared B&W with white balance temperature shift.)

Photo taken with Canon IXUS 80 IS and edited with Lightzone. SIMPLICITY is my niche!

Original Image:

I love anything that is unusual, unique, or just plain odd, and that’s the sort of image I try to capture. I’m so far from being the world’s best photographer it’s not funny, but I do have the photographer’s ‘eye’ and am more than proficient at capturing the images I see in my world. Thanks for taking the time to view my portfolio. Feel free to leave a message and say G’day.

Right out of a sci fi film. Looks just a tad too warm! Marvellous transformation, Neil!

  • Many thanks Mike. I’ve lower the temp on this one just a bit. Hopefully that’s a bit better :-)

I like this…very “modern” artsy looking. That lightzone program has some really interesting effects.
P.S. Be sure to hit the “reply” tab when responding to peoples comments or they’ll never see them unless they come back….

  • Cheers Dennis, and thanks for mentioning the reply tab. I had only just figured that one out a couple of nights ago. I think I must be a slow learner :-/
PS: I’ve only just started editing my own pics. Have never used photoshop or other programs, so Lightzone is all I know. I don’t think it was intended to be used the way I use it. When it blows up in my face, I’ll look for something else. Until then, it’s fine for me

    Hello Neil :)
You are my hero! You were the first one to give me a kind compliment on my Blue – Fractal, ever since i am getting more and more compliments and comments, most of them from Australia where you live, you must know alot of people :) and they all listen to you? Well guess what, i sold a T-Shirt today, i uploaded it as a T-Shirt and stickers. I am just tickled pink, it is not alot of money, but the thought of selling something what i created makes me warm all over.
Neil, you started it all, i know! So thank you my artist friend, I truly appreciate your kindness and i will make sure to visit your portfolio every time you upload new artwork. I am telling all my friends and everyone i know about you, and your artwork!

Hope you download the Apophysis 2.09 and have loads of fun!!!

    Your artist friend

  • Hey Jupiter.
I did receive your Bubblemail. Cheers for that. If you don’t mind, I will reply to you tomorrow on that one. I’m so happy that your artwork is being notice. It should be because it is wonderful. I saw some of your t-shirt designs, and all I can say is “wow”. Really cool. I love the function where you can see the various colours. How neat is that!

I’m so happy that you’ve made your first sale. A big congratulations :) It’s such a great compliment when someone likes your work so much that they want to buy it, and wear it. I sold some cards about a week ago… and made a massive profit of $2.72 LOL, but you know, I don’t care if my art sells or not, or if I gain a reputation or not… I just like doing what I’m doing, and it’s for the love of it, nothing more. I do it for me.

Hero? I don’t think I’ve ever been anyone’s hero before. I don’t know what to say other than thank you. I’ve shown your work to a number of my friends, but really your work is being noticed because it is good, not for anything that I’ve done.

Talk to you again soon mate. Neil :)

An incredible piece of Art my friend.. :))))

  • Thank you Debbie :-) This one is my most viewed piece of artwork. It’s not my favourite, but then it has been favourited (is that a word?) by so many. I do like the effect though. Another fluke LOL :-)

Wonderful work,,love the warmth it gives

  • Thanks Elfie. I really like what you have said on your profile about photography being a form of meditation and gratitude. I agree whole heartedly. Perusing your artwork was, for me, a quiet meditation, and for that I am grateful :-)

This is really a very striking image and I also haven’t seen anything quite like it even after nearly 2 years of daily Flickring! I really like it and particularly appreciate its originality and spirit of experimentation.

  • Wow Rachael, that’s probably the coolest comment anyone’s ever made about my pics. Greatly appreciated. There’s another variation of this same photo… Eastern Skyline. Both images have been well received. Many thanks to you :-)
