Our only child, our son met an English girl and her friend while they were back-packing here. He married her and they live way over there 14,000 miles away with our two grandchildren one we still haven’t met our grandson of two years. Deb, they will always be our babies, we are just handing them over to someone else to care for and it is a constant letting go and gaining a daughter and grandchildren in the process. (just wish they were a bit closer)

How incredibly thoughtful, sweet and kind to have written this poem for Deb. My son is only 5 and I can only imagine the feelings of this event, Deb. I have a hard enough time just letting him play at a friend’s house. But the greatest feeling I would think would be that of joy that your son has found love and happiness. For I know as mothers that is our greatest wish for our children, even if it means letting them fly.

The main thing you have always got to keep in mind when a child of yours gets married, your not loosing a child you are gaining a new child be it a son or dauther. Also think about the upcoming grandchildren! This is not the end it is just the begning.
