She has beauty and wonder in abundance
Yet unnoticed, she is used and neglected
Her body burned, cut and broken
She bleeds, her joints disconnected
For one that has provided so much
How did her fate lead this way
Where so much of her could be stolen
And leave her where she is today
Raped, hurt, softly dying
Left to rot, with brutal force
Taken for granted, exhausted, she waits
Her murderers see her, they show no remorse
She whimpers softly as her very being is beaten out of her
Onlookers watch, yet they are blind to her plight
Her strength depleting with every swift blow
How much longer will she endure this fight
Stripped bare and degraded she lays
Twisted, contorted, in despair
She weeps, ignored, bruised and forgotten
Her state now close to disrepair
When will we notice the importance of her
When will we see and realise
That Mother Earth is our pure existence
Without her to hold us, everyone dies
Who will Save Her
My first written entry for Gaia
Our planet is a source of life giving riches – once we learn to give back what we take – balance will be achieved.

So very descriptive and emotive of our beautiful planet! Interestingly, God promises to “bring to ruin those ruining the earth” (Rev.11:18)... prophetically showing in advance that there would be those who would ruin the earth and a promise that he will step in and correct matters. It is a beautiful poem and shows a great deal of thought and feeling!

I am not a poet; but this is poetry i can comprehend. Very well down – it reaches a broad audience-even me! People breathe in and out repeatedly by the Minute; but we never think where oxygen comes from? Nature combined for our benefit!

This is so beautifully written, Jul, and I think would make a great entry into that contest. I definitely think it’s worth including in other projects, too.
