Incredibly beautiful Julie; the long graceful necks make for a nice skyline; beautiful color and the lighting was just perfect…..exquisite contrast with the blues and lavenders in the sky…..how nice that they posed for you like this!

Oh, my gosh! This is great! The repetition is so wonderful and I love the sky , so dramatic! Love it! You’ve got to love giraffes. It is so funny to watch them sit down like this. It takes forever…and the older ones seems to have trouble getting down there, sometimes.

Nice work Julie – a lovely shot.

Now perhaps you can clear up this point for me, do Giraffes sit down because it’s going to rain (like cows do) or is it because they are tired and need the rest?

    Hi Again Julie,
Long Neck Picnic is lovely. I was you would had made the Giraffe’s lighter – The sun was against you’ and it’s not dark enough to be a silhouette in this shot.
    Take care, Bonnie

How lucky you were to have been there when they did that. When I go to Woburn Safari park I always leave the Giraffes until last, my treat for a six or seven hour day. They are my favourite. They walk with such elegance and they are truly beautiful too. Wow they even sit with such superiority and grace.
    Thank you for sharing.
