Guardians

A new approach for me – Thought I would try some fantasy matte work.

This is a collaboration effort where Susan Davies provided the base image of Castell Coch and Rose Moxon kindly created the 3D dragons that I used in this composition. Thank you both – I couldn’t have created this without you guys.

I am quite pleased with the result I reached here – and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.

I have prepared a step by step guide to how I got this effect, and you can read it here

Awesome job, does something like this take hours or days to do?

  • Julie Langfordcommunity host replied

The hardest part is the second step – removal of the trees with cloning and then painting back in detail with small brushes – This took about 18 hours total, over four days.
