The beauty of this old stone Lebanese house is captured here, the carpets add to its charm. The home is found in Achrafieh, Beirut, now surrounded by newly developed high rise apartment buildings.

Part of a series of Lebanese homes and buildings featuring windows, doors, balconies…

Art… I live, breathe and eat it… can’t get enough.
I love to create my art… I’ll paint all day long if I can.
It touches all aspects of my life. I work as an art teacher in 3 schools, paint murals in homes, businesses…indoor and outdoor, do some graphic design, and hope to soon illustrate a children’s book. And I LOVE TO VIEW ALL YOUR ARTWORK HERE ON REDBUBBLE!

Last Thursday we went to a Lebanese restaurant for the first time ever and now here I am looking at a Lebanese balcony. This reminds me a little of the balcony facing our hotel in Barcelona last year.

  • I painted this the first time on location with watercolors. At the time I thought that I probably should be home airing out my carpets… NOT. This is the second painting of this view done in acrylic. Unfortunately many of the old homes here are being leveled for new skyscrapers, so i try to capture them in paintings or photos. Here today, gone tomorrow literally. By the way how did you like the lebanese food? So Delicish?

The Lebanese food was the most delicious meal we have had for a long time.

Just wonderful! And “BLYTHART” is right, here in Barcelona in the “Barri Gòtic” there are lots of old houses, similar to this one, but they get renovated. I truly do not understand why they knock down these beautiful old houses. They could easily build the skyscrapers outside the picturesque Old Town. So you’re doing a good job in taking photos or painting these houses which has so much more atmosphere than all those similar looking glass and steal buildings.
