Bringing Home the Bacon by

A pair of these little birds have made a nest in the eaves of our house. The male is remarkably tolerant of our comings & goings and sits on his favourite spot on our clothesline. I can’t identify him, though,as my bird book is packed in a box somewhere!

Landscapes are my favourites, and I am trying to add more mood and insight in my shots, Nature is a fickle lady and capturing her moods can be difficult. So, we keep trying!

Ahhhhh what a little cutie Nancy…beautifully composed and lovely focus :-D

  • Thanks, Lyn. I didn’t have my tripod handy, so I’m glad a few didn’t blur! I did mess up one with a much more digusting bug in his beak!

What a beautiful wee bird, Nancy! Lovely shot! It might be an “orange crowned warbler” – might be…. :o)

  • Thanks Mike! I don’t think it’s what you think: no orange crown, but what I take to be the male, has almost a crest at the back of his head, small, but much like Woody Woodpecker! He is almost a dusky shade of green in the right light. I WISH I had my bird book!
