Yosemite's Flood Line by NancyC

Currently unavailable for purchase

Taken 4/2009 in Yosemite National Park. The sign my husband is reaching for is a flood sign dated 1/2/1997 the last time Yosemite flooded. My husband is 6’3" tall and has long arms so you can just imagine the amount of water and force it brought with it.
The snow melt off, along with the rains are causing the rivers to rise once again (thanks shootinmickey for the info).
here’s the link to the yube tube video showing the 1997 flood. Sorry I am not so good with linking things.

Hard to imagine Nancy. Living near the Ohio River i do know about flooding…Think of the terrible flash flood that just happened in Arkansas….The power of nature is never to be underestimated.

  • I know Liz, I’ve been watching that on the news, such devastation. I can just imagine the power and force the water had…how scary.
