Gravestone in Vinton Cemetery, Vinton, California. Taken New Year’s Day 2009. At first we passed this graveyard that sat just outside Vinton, California. I kept looking back; which caught my husbands attention, so he made a u-turn, and we went back. It was strange; he sat in the car, which he doesn’t do when I take photos in graveyards.
As I walked into this cemetery, I suddenly felt a feeling of protection and peace…as if God and His Angels were watching over me at that very moment, right beside me..I know they are always there…but the feeling was ever so strong and continued as I walked around, alone. ..With the snow on the ground and the mountains in the background; I stood there, taking in God’s beauty; in front of this beautiful gravestone, which was so lovingly created for the loved one who was laid to rest here…I suddenly thought of my wonderful children, my loving husband. I felt more thankful than normal, because I finally, for unknown reasons, felt at PEACE.

It was a wonderful feeling that for reasons beyond my power or understanding; left with me. I am so thankful and feel such peace, which has not been at my disposal for some time now. I think that whatever/whoever it was, there in that graveyard on New Years Day; helped me to allow myself to let go of my ‘baggage’ and begin this new year with new found energy and a positive feeling of PEACE
