very nice nancy, i think you picked the perfect time of day for this one.
Thanks Simon, it would be nice if I had the sense to “pick” the right time of day. The truth is I was supposed to be in NYC by early morning but my fight got canceled then delayed. It was the only day I had in NY so I got out as soon as possible. It had been raining all morning and the sky was just clearing. The sun was actually shinning as it was still early in the day but because of the tall buildings it seemed much darker and much later in the day. I remember thinking “is it alway this dark in the city on a sunny day?” Hopefully I will get another chance to be in NYC with more time.
Glad to see you got a really amazing shot out of your slightly crammed trip. =) love you!
Congratulations on being featured on the Travel and Adventure Home page.
Thank you!! :D First time it’s ever happened to me.
Great composition! Must be photography heaven there!!
Thanks for you comment. I’m sure it is and I was expecting to come away with lots of pictures but oddly, I found it harder then usual. Every block looked exactly the same. I was only there for a few hours so I’m sure that may have changed if I could have stayed longer and paid more attention to the people around me etc.
A very perfect moment for lighting – between deep shadow with the zing of neon colour. Well done.
this is straight out of scene from a movie. great capture. this just makes me want to be right there in new york at this very moment.
haha! Thank you. For an “armature” you take awesome pictures. You have a great eye and I love all the vivid colors.
