Thanks Simon, it would be nice if I had the sense to “pick” the right time of day. The truth is I was supposed to be in NYC by early morning but my fight got canceled then delayed. It was the only day I had in NY so I got out as soon as possible. It had been raining all morning and the sky was just clearing. The sun was actually shinning as it was still early in the day but because of the tall buildings it seemed much darker and much later in the day. I remember thinking “is it alway this dark in the city on a sunny day?” Hopefully I will get another chance to be in NYC with more time.

Thanks for you comment. I’m sure it is and I was expecting to come away with lots of pictures but oddly, I found it harder then usual. Every block looked exactly the same. I was only there for a few hours so I’m sure that may have changed if I could have stayed longer and paid more attention to the people around me etc.
