I’m a mom of 3 grown children who have either married or are living on their own. I have 4 grandkids. I am “Nana” to one daughter’s kids, and “Gahma” to the other daughter’s kids. Well, now it’s grandma because my 3 year old granddaughter can now pronounce it correctly! But you get the picture. My favorite things to photograph are flowers and nature, and of course my grandkids. My specialty is jazzing up my photos with special effects. I do borders, write on them etc. Just noticed that RedBubble doesn’t encourage borders so that could be a problem…I love them! :) ! I’m joining a community of very talented artists and I feel a little inadequate for this site. There are so many talented people in this community and I am humbled at times when I see their work in comparison to mine! :)

I’ve been passionate about photography for many years (30 plus) but am completely self-taught. When I got my first SLR (the 35mm film type), I didn’t have a clue as to how to use it! But I read and re-read and then re-read some more as to what depth of field and f-stops and bracketing and film speed was all about. And eventually I became comfortable with my camera. I’ve always taken my kids’ photos myself rather than bringing them into a studio because it was so much more fun getting those candid shots rather than the “posed” ones.

I quickly jumped on the band wagon when digital cameras came out. What fun to be able to view your photo immediately rather than having to wait to get it developed! So my clunky 35mm SLR was put away and the compact ones started to be my camera of choice. I am now at the point where digital SLR’s are becoming appealing, mainly because I’m not always satisfied with what I’m getting on my point and shoots! I can see a big expenditure looming in the near future! :-) Hope you enjoy my photos. Please feel free to leave constructive comments. . .that’s the way I learn!
