Alrighty, I have a plan (Sort of) and I made a mind map just for all you.

I’m going to do something I probably shouldn’t and this little honey bee is going to jump into the honey. I may not have the full extent of the story, I may be wrong, I may be someone else and just not know it yet. But dammit, at least I’m doing something.

WE ALL NEED TO TALK!!!

Stop being so freaking nandy pandy and have a freaking rant. Are we feeling a little meh about something? Got peanut butter up your nose again? Are your pencils taking up a martial art? Emit here. But be frikken constructive. EMIT PROBLEM // COLLECT IDEAS

I went to a great deal of trouble to make a mind map of some of the issues and I’m almost certain that Lucan will have me in a sack with his nanny once he sees it, so work quickly and dabble, conjure, create.

Do what all those beautiful squishy brain cells were designed for! We are artists, designers, writers, photographers, scribblers, puta nerds, creators.

WE ARE CREATIVE.

CREATIVE = PROBLEM SOLVERS.

I leave you with a wee quotation
“Finding people you have something in common with is a hugely powerful thing, especially when it comes to us creative kids. It’s a pity we don’t all live in the same street … ” – Natalie Tyler

Oh wait, I’m going to be a bit more assertive

I’m going to make some coffee and hopefully someone will turn up and problem solve with me.

People are stoopid, how can fix?

  • najeroux replied

I’m not sure fixing people is the desired outcome. I was considering blaming it all on the GFC but thats a cop out. Any ideas? I had considered asking the RB admin to up the social side of the platform. Maybe modify the notification system? Or make profiles a little more interactive (Not like myspace or facebook but perhaps showcasing points of inspiration…?) What do you think?

I like the idea of moving into the same street… but it has to be the one I already live on.

  • najeroux replied

Are there any empty houses? Can we rename it Bubble Avenue? We’d have the best street parties.

Your mapping skills are nothing short of astounding…

I`m not sure what the fuss is about really, Danny`s a little bummed, that happens, and it`s perfectly fine.. People get worked up, again, perfectly fine.. Little mini revolts about people getting banned, people expressing displeasure.. again, all`s well with my world.

Choices. I make them. I`m happy with them. I`m happy.

  • najeroux replied

I think the issue is that the more connected the world becomes, the more isolated we feel. I have more amazing images flow into my email each day than I’ve seen in my entire life, yet my drive to create is somewhat sapped. It could just be mine and Danny’s issues but we’re looking to an amazing community of problem solvers to assist us in resolving this. Community contains unity.

Of course you’re happy. I’d be pretty stoked if each day I woke up, looked in the mirror and thought “Oh yeah! I’m Scott Robinson!”. :P

I am annoyed at how fucking long it is taking for your mind map to load!!! maybe I should go make a coffee too and do the vaccuming, and clean the toilet. might be here by then.

  • najeroux replied

I can email it to you if you’d like. If Uni has taught me anything, it’s mind mapping.

    and this little guy.

Interactivity… like some new toys for creating shit? What does the internet give us that ye olde communication doesn’t? Well… interactivity.

Okay, so you can create shit together with people you’ve never met. But we need some sort of gizmo that allows us to compile it together.

So there’s this kind of thing (which hasn’t even gotten started yet) – but people could take it further.

Group projects like the Game of Kings thing… working to create one final thingo. Perhaps Clogs McHelmetThong could be the mascot.

  • najeroux replied

Sounding good. I have noticed from yesterdays outburst that there are a lot of forums that just aren’t happening. GoK has been incredible to witness. The ISoDIaWD forum looks like it’s rocking. Maybe I’m just hanging out in the wrong places. I was talking with a non-RB friend about a collabo via post (She’s in Brisbane) and I thought to myself at the time, “Why aren’t we doing this on RB?”

    najeroux

  • Scott Robinson

    Scott Robinson

Hahaha, I look in the mirror each morning and groan, hold my head, and wonder where my pants are.. but that`s beside the point.

I`m not saying I haven`t been where you and Danny seem to be heading, it`s a hard thing sometimes to be so connected, yet in reality, so distant. I think if we found the answer to the issue, whole generations of people would be better off. The thing is for me though, like everything, perception is reality. I don`t look for things that`ll bum me out. There`s so many fucking shitty things happening in my life right now, I could just so stupid thinking about them. But I don`t. I make choices, I try to move forward. I don`t deny their existance, but I don`t give them any un-due weight either.

Rb is a positive place, if you want it to be. If you`re not feeling it, consider why exactly, and do something creative about it. That`s our gift. We`re not the helpless ones wondering what to do with all the ugly building up insiide us, we, for the most part, have a clear set release.

Even negativity can be a positive thing when it spurs you to do something.

  • najeroux replied

Hence JE. I’m not all that fond of negativity. Makes my hair look bad. I’m not as far gone as Danny seems to be. But I do want to keep my chin up and resolve rather than regress. If there are other people out there feeling the same, hopefully we can all help them up.

“Even negativity can be a positive thing when it spurs you to do something.” – Like finding beauty in negative spaces…

C’mon Scotty, lets hug it out.

  • jemimalovesbigted

I have one suggestion, it may be totally crap but it works for me….

If you have issues with what is said in the forums (mind you my reasons for not going there are probably way different to others), do not read them! Instead turn to your favourite form of artistic expression and expend all that negative, useless energy into creating a masterpiece. Then the next, simple step is to share it with the Red Bubble community. Pretty simple really.

As for issues that arise within the community, I am extremely cynical about that and believe that if you give people a space to, they will complain and whine their little hearts out. It depresses the crap out of me.

by the way thousands of dollars well spent at uni chick. that is one mighty fine mind map

  • najeroux replied

My only issue with forums is the inactivity I’m seeing in them. Remember lat year when we had a gravy boat party over in ARSE? I nearly got fired from my job because I was practically splashing around in gravy at my desk. The fun didn’t stop when I got home.

Change is inevitable. But when did we become so apathetic? I’m glad I posted this JE today because I haven’t spoken to the 3 of you in easily 2 weeks. But here we are, interacting, discussing, problem solving, as we are born to do. (I feel sorry for people who prefer maths to art) Danny’s rant yesterday inspired me to make a journal today AND the bloody mind map. Cause and effect. Lets hope this snowballs.

Thanks for the mind map loving. I’m gonna stick it on the fridge I think.

I have to say your mind map made me smile a great deal, and Scott’s solution to the worlds problems (and hs own) make a great deal of sense….

Choices – eye haz dem…..and that means I don’t go to the forums any more either….

  • najeroux replied

I think we should all go with Nat’s original idea of moving into the same street. Sounds much easier.

Ahh the gravy boat.. fun day that one.

The In-activity is a hard one to answer.. I guess it`s just hard to spread yourself across so many different groups, and still do them the justice they deserve. Once you start to feel like you`ve failed to keep up, it`s easier to drop out. It`s a human condition thing.

The genral forums themselves, I don`t dare to tread. There`s nothing there for me..

BUT, quiet as it all may seem, people are still chatting in the wings, If I feel the need to reach out and touch someone (in-appropriately?), you`re all there for me. We`ve all got things going on, but if the shit goes down, everyone stands up.. It`s like a secret ninja army at your disposal.

Hugs at 20 paces? You`re on, I`ve got long arms
