Probably like most of you, I sometimes get aggravated at the amount of junk mail that we all have to deal with on the internet. And then it those emails from friends and relatives with attachments of what they think is the funniest or most senitive thing they’ve never seen and want to share it with you. I end up delecting the vast majority of that stuff soon as it hits my in box. So with that said and the fact that I swore that I would never be a part of that internet craziness. Here I am back stepping. A close friend who knew my internet policies and who also has been a supporter and client in terms of my painting career, sent this to me. As a painter (not a political activist) I was moved to tears over what the strenght of a painting can do. As an artist you may want to take just a minute to watch this.

Mine as well Phil. You don’t live in a military community without it touching you in some way everyday.

Very moving, I can’t imagine losing my son in a battle far away.

I’ve loss one son due to a undiscovered heart condition and that was bad enough, like you, I can’t imagine what it would have been like if I had lost him in battle.

Children should not die before you, life goes on but never the same….
I really liked your watercolour of your small dog, we have a Cairn Terrier pup 6 months old, he is a strong, funny, compassionate animal.
I wish people could be more like that,
Jean

Both of my parents are still alive today and I very clearly remember my mother’s words in regards to losing my sister to cancer back in 1982 (she was 30.) She said, “It is an unnatural act when a child is lost to a parent.” “You’re just suppose to die before your children do.” “I realize that death is part of life, and I’ve lost parents, aunts and uncles, all who were older, but something about losing a child is just not right and it will affect me forever.” Unfortunately, in 2006, I came to understand fully what she meant.
