Behind the River View by Jim Phillips

Currently unavailable for purchase

20″×16″ Acrylic on Canvas Panel
The River View is one of my most favorite Restaurants. They are an old, well established restaurant from the 1940’s located in the still small out of the way shrimping villiage of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. The scene you see here is slightly off to the right of the restaurant. Sneads Ferry is located at the mouth of the New River and across the River from the Marine Corps New River Air Station.

Buy it, I’m already well into my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments. (Well….the good ones anyway.)

gorgeous painting! I especially love the blues

  • Try to stay away from using any grays to shade with, it’s just not very natural. Thanks Marion.
