16″×12″ WN artist colours on Fabriano 140lb coldpress not

Just a small play on words to help explain, it would be this kind of location I would want to go to be alone to think, walk, look and paint.

Buy it, I’m already well into my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments. (Well….the good ones anyway.)

very nice yep I’ll go along with this idea! a litle boat to mess about in too.. [not saying you need one in the pic of course]

  • I like the boat idea…. yeah, I can see you and me sitting in a little boat loaded up with beer, fishing gear, camera gear, and painting gear. Strike all that and just put in the beer….lol.

Just beautiful, Jim. Love the title and your reflections. This is such an idyllic setting and painting.

  • Thanks for a lovely comment Bev. And if you want to get in the boat with me and Ginny ….well we’re just going to have to get a bigger boat.

This is lovely Jim – I’m with you on finding the perfect location to be alone…… that’s one of the reasons we moved across the country.

  • I really believe in giving yourself some “ME TIIME.” And it shouldn’t be offensive to your spouse either, because when you’re given the time and space to peacefully figure things out it’s usually beneficial to everyone around you. Thanks Cal.

I like the washy effect of this. I didn’t know acrylic could do this. I’ll have to try it. Great colors, too.

  • Lora, you are too smart. Yes, I screwed up, it was late last night when I posted and I obviously was not paying attention …… it is a watercolour painting. I have already gone and chanced the narrative to read as such. Thank you Lora. Actually you can get a very washy effect from your acrylics to the point of their looking like watercolours to a degree, but you will never get the same level of transparency with acrylics.
