14"X11" Acrylic painting on canvas panel

Tucked away in many of the sounds and mouth of rivers are small quaint marinas that in some cases don’t cater to more than a dozen boats.

Buy it, I’m already well into my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments. (Well….the good ones anyway.)

What a location! So charming, Jim!

  • Wouldn’t it be though….. not really a real place I’m afraid. Let me explain Marriet…. over the years I’m seen so many of these small marinas this is more like a compilation of them from my memory. Thanks for that great comment.

beautiful scene on the eyes Jim…great perspective that leads the eye in over the quaint marina with its pretty reflections..!

  • Good eye Linda about the perspective, as this was a big part of the lesson I shared with my students while we sketched and before we started painting. Thank you.

Wonderful painting Jim! As you know I love boat paintings!

  • I certainly do know that Tash. I also know that you don’t just love them, but paint them very successfully as well. Thanks Tash.

This is a fantastic painting Jim. Lovely colours and great reflections in the water. Great how you’ve caught the light on the building too.

  • I feel quite honored that a “master of light management” comments on how I caught the light on a building to her liking. That’s a true compliment Lynda. Thanks dear.
