Watercolour with Cotman colours on Arches 140lb not
Jupie is one of my first cousins. Jupie is a childhood name that stuck into adulthood, but if you knew her personality you would understand the name still fits as well as her delightful red hat.

Buy it, I’m already well into my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments. (Well….the good ones anyway.)

A wonderful portrait, Jim…love the red hair & hat…..if her personality is anything like her smile, then she must be a real delight to know. Also love the nickname.

  • I come from deep southern roots Marsha, when my mother and her sisters get together it’s like watching a version of “Steele Magnolias.” I really had an uncle Bubba. So Jupie fits right in. LOL

She looks delightful, Jim, and you have captured a wonderful personality here. Beautifully rendered portrait. The name, red hair and red hat all seem to fit.

  • I hope I didn’t get the hair too red, it’s really a reddish brown. Thanks Bev.
