Acrylic painting on 20″×16″ canvas panel

This time of year, my wife Barbara, drags all the ceramic pots she owns out to our covered back deck and fills them with an asortment of flowers. It truly is a relaxing place to sit and enjoy your surroundings. This is some of what she has planted.

Buy it, I’m already well into my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments. (Well….the good ones anyway.)

Gobsmackingly Gorgeous Jim! I particularly love the way you have done the greens, as I find that the most difficult colour to get right. Well potted Barbara!

  • I love the fact that it’s fellow artist commenting…. I think you probably knew that I spent a lot more time on the greenery than I did on the blooms. Very fine comment Lynda, thank you dear.

Love the contrast in this one Jim and the bluey greens. Great colour combinations. Fave!

  • Yeah, those stems were for the most part a blue green except were the sun light is really strong allowing the occassional yellow green to slip through. Love your observation Ann, thank you.

It looks beautiful Jim, your wife did a fabulous job on the flowers and you on painting them!

  • I’ll have to do one that better shows off my wife’s efforts. Thanks Arie.
