12″×9″ Acrylic painting on canvas panel

Was feeling impressionistic when I started this one, so the whole painting was done with a number 4 flat brush.

Buy it, I’m already well into my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments. (Well….the good ones anyway.)

a lovely impressionistic style Jim..and I like the way the house is tucked away behind the trees…a beautiful painting to show off this Italian countryside view.

  • Thanks for being the first to comment and a lovely comment at that Linda.

You achieved great texture with just that one brush….very well done.

  • I’ve had my students do small painting excercizes with just one brush in an attempt to learn what that brush will do. In the introductions to each new class I do a lecture on brush types and give them the general purpose of each brush, then tell them that they will discover how and when they will use their brushes. Thanks Marsha.
