Buy it, I’m already well into my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments. (Well….the good ones anyway.)

Oooh Jenny Dean – you beat me to it, because I made the FIRST comment on this amazing work, and then somehow it disappeared!!! Boo Hoo! WOW JIM! This is great! I love the composition and the way the eye is lead up the path past the gate and the fence, and the clever way you put more detail into the subject of the painting – the tractor shed. Great use of blue/orange complementaries too! Fantastic work!

  • Love your comments first or not Lynda. You’ve made this simple watercolour sound like a masterpiece with your fantastic observations. You’re just too good to me Lynda, thanks.

    As Jenny said, “brilliant Jim!”
The variations of the main colour keep the whole unit cohesive and the directional organization of the the shapes (including that light gold field on the left)ensure the focus stays on the shed.

  • All three of you make me feel like I must have spent months laying out the composition and color palette for this simple piece. lol Understand, I love the praise though. Thanks for a very thoughtful comment Sandy. Really makes me feel good.

This truly is brilliant & creative. One of the first things I noticed was that it has a slight whimsical feel to it by the way objects are leaning to the right & to the left on either side of the pathway as if it plowed itself right through & pushing everything aside. Does that make any sense? I just love it…very well done.

  • Ha, I’m not sure I realized that I had done that Marsha. Nice catch, fun observation. Thanks dear.
By the way, pop me a bmail with some instruction on where I need to post the photo on FFA. I’m really not sure.

It looks like you had great fun painting this Jim. Lovely colours and subject, I wouldn’t mind doing that place up and live there.

  • Looks like a whole lot of doing would be required on this place Arie. lol But I clearly get the jest of your intention. Thanks buddy.

I agree with Lynda Jim…a lovely watercolour with an inviting road that leads your eye up to the tractor shed…I love the gate leaning against the fence too…!

  • This is what makes the bubble fun for me, that the comments are coming from artist(like yourself) who think most of the time in the same logic that I do. Thanks Linda.

this is very poetic and beautiful image, Jim. did you try a new style?

  • Fine catch Hidemi, I am exploring a little bit with my watercolours. Not that I am unhappy with what I’m doing, but I see so many artist who, particularly with their watercolours, have advanced their technique to levels more advanced than my own.

Wow!! Love this Jim! The comp is fabulous, but what really draws me in is the palette and the near illustrative quality it ahs. Instant fav for sure!!
