Watercolour using DickBlick artist colours on Fabriano watercolour paper

A quick still life I set up at home for my watercolour students. Thought a good still life would be a good place to kick off a new class.

Buy it, I’m already well into my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments. (Well….the good ones anyway.)

Beautiful art the colors and marble look…:)

  • Thanks Webbie, the original photo I took to work from had the surface as a dark granite top with white cabinets and a microwave in the background, so I had to get creative. LOL

Like the rest, I love the colors…ESPECIALLY in the nice reflections. Great composition, too. Hope the students will enjoy painting it. Hey, good to have you back – been missing you ’round these parts.

  • Yeah, I know….. been putting down flooring as of late. It turned out look’n pretty good Marsha. It’s starting to move into fall now and I’ll be spenting more time online than I did during the summer.

I like the design and the play of dark against light. Happy teaching!

  • Thanks Lora. I just started a new session and only have about 4 returning students and the other 16 are new this time, so it’s like starting at the begining again.
