watercolour using WN paints on Fabriano paper
original 10" square
An early bonus for me in the spring of the year it to watch the peartrees in full bloom.

Buy it, I’m already well into my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments. (Well….the good ones anyway.)

Oh wow jim, love the view on this one! Wonderful how you did the little details, your eye jumps from one detail to the other. So much things going on….that’s what I like!

  • Thank goodness, I didn’t attempt the whole tree Arie. LOL Thanks my friend.

This is a real beauty, Jim. Love the outlined petals as it really sets it off.

  • The pencil lines left remaining is due to a suggestion by Janis Zroback. Thanks Marsha.

Very nice!, I like the way you outlined the flowers, and the colors are gorgious!

  • I came out of a school that pencil lines weren’t suppose to be a part of your watercolour and my friend Janis Zroback said she intentionally places or leaves them in for effect in some of her work. I think she may be on to something with that thinking. Thanks Sandrine.

Really beautiful Jim! You have captured the freshness of spring!

  • How white and full these Bradford peartrees come out is a true indicator as to what kind of Spring we’re going to have. Looks good for this year. Thanks Sandy.

  • These are off a Bradford peartree. A non-fruit producing ornamental tree. Turns completely white with blooms for around two weeks a year.
