Floral Study Sketch - Pansy by

Watercolour using Winsor Newton paints on Fabriano 140lb coldpress watercolour paper

Everyone’s cool weather flower. Also a favorite due to the wide selection of colour combinations they come in. We usually plant these every year in a small bed that surrounds a pear tree in the front yard.

This series now includes:

Floral Study Sketch – Holly Hocks

Floral Study Sketch – Sweet Williams

Floral Study Sketch – Blue Poppy

Floral Study Sketch – Pansy

Buy it, I’m already well into my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments. (Well….the good ones anyway.)

What a great collection but I particularly like the pansy for all the reasons you said and because their happy colour faces are beautiful in a salad.

  • I know that they can be added to a salad, however we enjoy looking at ours to much Terrill. lol Thanks for a lovely comment.

Very nice, Jim. Your wonderful collection is “growing”. How can anyone not like a pansy when it’s smiling back at them? You’re making me very anxious to get to the garden center to paint!!!

  • Thanks Marsha, love it when I think I’ve inspired.
