Hurricane Survivor Kit by

Watercolour painted with Winsor Newton paints on 140 lb Fabriano watercolour paper

A collection of things around the house.

Buy it, I’m already in my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments.

More great work Jim! I love the mellow colours in this one.

  • Mellow is as mellow does, I guess we tend to paint what we are. Thanks Sandy.

Teehee…is that whisky?…if it is, now I know what ’s important to you…great still life work Jim…I especailly like the contrast between dark and light…

  • Teehee nothing, everytime a hurricane comes this way my Mom and Dad come over here to stay for several days…. it would drive anyone to drink. LOL Thanks Janis.

Such an interesting collection of ‘things’. I love how a ‘still life’ can make you wonder about why an artist chose those items to paint and in that particular composition. I love your watercolours especially in all your artworks!!!

  • I agree it is interesting… but there are no hidden meanings here. If you’ve ever been through a hurricane you’d know your going to lose your electricity and the winds howl to the point it will want to make someone who doesn’t drink want to take a shot. LOL Thanks Karen.

Another wonderful painting. My eye went straight to the lantern – I really love how you handled that.

  • I own an oil lantern, but it was too boring, I found this one in an old camping magazine. Thanks Marsha.
