Ready for the Christmas Regatta by

12″×9″ Arcrylic on watercolour paper

Every Christmas the coastal community of Swansboro, North Carolina hosts a Christmas Regatta. A wide asortment of all kinds of boats decorate with lights and line up single file to make a short trip down the intercoastal waterway with Santa atop the last one. They escort Santa to the dock in Swansboro where he hands out candy to the children who have been waiting to see him. The boats with all their lights is truly a wonderful sight to behold.

Buy it, I’m already well into my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments. (Well….the good ones anyway.)

How bright & festive looking! The regatta must be a real sight ti see.

P.S. What are YOU doing up at 1:00 in the morning? I’m sick – can’t sleep.

  • It truly is Marsha. I’m a night owl, I’m just about always up at this hour. I actually like to paint at night.

  • I just realized how insensitive I must sound, not even asking you are you OK. Hope it’s not much of anything, and you’re not really getting sick for the holidays.

This regatta around Christmas must be wonderful to be seen with all the lights and all the celebrations going with it !
Your painting gives a fantastic atmosphere of what is preparing and with all those vibrant colours, it reminds me an artist I like very much, and here with that specific touch of yours…..

  • You mean, I’m not your favortie artist? LOL Thank you Corinne, that’s a very sweet comment and one very much appreciated, a real compliment.
