Original 20″×16″ Winsor Newton paints on Fabriano paper
Commissioned work by the Chaplain’s at Camp Lejeune for a visiting quest speaker. Permission granted to post online as they may obtain prints at a later time.
Buy it, I’m already in my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments.

What a wondeful piece of commissioned work. They must’ve been thrilled with this. The whole thing is masterful, but I really, really like the way you rendered the tree out front. I wish so much I could learn to paint a tree without using a sponge to do it. This way looks sooooo much better.
Just dapping instead of sponging, Marsha. Slower process, but I like the end results better than sponging, although I still sponge some of the scrubs occassionally. Thanks.

Very nice of you Arie, thank you very much.

This is beautiful Jim!The trees break the harshness of the red brick chapel without taking away the character and style of the building…well done!
Well on this one they asked that I stay true to the actual scene and the trees were there, so I can’t take too much credit for the composition on this one. Thanks Sandy.

Oh so lovely Jim. This has the charm and feel of a New England landscape. I am sure the recipient will be so happy to have this piece.
They have the marines and God on their side, I hope they’re pleased as well. LOL Thanks Carolyn.

wonderful painting Jim. at last i gave up to study landscape. i will concentrait in portraiture from now.
You make that sound like a bad thing Hidemi. Portraits are a strenght of yours, so play on your strenght. That smart for any artist to do.
