Watercolour on watercolour paper
This is another one of my “front of class lecture pieces” for my watercolour class. After I got home my wife asked, who are you doing that one for, your artist friend in Hawaii?"And I thought it sure looks like kj’s neighborhood.
It does…he will be really pleased….great work Jim…
I hope so Janis, kj and I are good friends. Thanks.
That a very nice single word compliment Angel. Thanks.
Like that neighborhood and it sure does look like kj’s part of the world. An easy breezy creation that is just beautiful Jim.
Thanks Carolyn, it’s something about your comments that always leave me feeling good.
Beautiful Jim: ) It sure does look like KJ’s kinda place.. wonderful!! Couldn’t have dedicated it to a nicer guy! Wen x
Thanks Wen, yeah, kj and I are buddies.
Watercolour is not easy to demonstrate, especially wet-in-wet when you have to keep the paper flat. I remember artist John Pike used a large mirror at 45* above his desk, but that would be a bit ‘over-the-top’ for us none professionals. Regardless of the difficulty, you did a great job Jim.
You are right Brian. My largest class is only 12 students. What I do is have them join me around a table while I explain and paint on a flat surface. I have a table easel that I use from time to time. It does depend on what method I’m demonstrating. Thanks.
Beautiful work, Jim.
WOW, amazing piece of work!! Very well done.Brendan
Thanks so much.
Great work Jim, i’m going to have to join your class and maybe go see your friend
LOL I would love to have you in my class so my students could see what a real artist is like. Thanks Jim.
Beautiful piece Jim…I am not a water color expert but this has wonderful movement and draws you in! Well done…
Well this piece was done while I was lecturing and demonstrating various techniques to a group of students. So a masterpiece it’s not. But the fact that it came out as nicely as it did under the circumstances is the only reason I posted. So thank you Susan.
