Watercolour on watercolour paper

Borrowing elements from several pictures I composed this scene of a time gone by.

Buy it, I’m already well into my 60’s and if I’m going to be famous, well, I’m running out of time. I like to think my work has been influenced by the great impressionists, although my wife says it’s because I won’t go and get my eyes checked. At any rate, I do love to paint watercolour and acrylics and it’s a true wish of mine that you enjoy viewing my work. Go ahead and let me know what you think, I love to read your comments. (Well….the good ones anyway.)

Everybody has a nice scean of a time gone by in his mind. I wish i could paint my own someday. When I watch your picture, I felt i want to play some American folk song with my harmonica. thank you for sharing your nice job, Jim.

  • When people talk about getting a certain feeling after viewing a work of art, that is when a painting is it’s most successful. Thank you Hidemi for a very generous remark.

Jim, this one shows the joy you take in your artistry. Not that the others don’t, but this one does so especially. It is so creative and gives one a sense of tranquility and security. It brings back memories of fall when the leaves are just starting to turn. Wonderful work!

  • Carolyn, you are ever so observant and your comments are like poetry. Thank so much.

  • PS: Thanks for favoring. It really means a lot to me.

Lovely summer scene Jim…we see many like this in the country side here still…thank goodness it’s not all gone over to suburbs yet…

  • Thanks Janis, eastern NC still provides plenty of farm land and country style scenery to be viewed.
Double thanks for adding me to your watchlist. This summer hasn’t been super productive for me, but then summer never has been. (Too many other things going on.) LOL

I am the same…I do most of my work in winter…it’s only because I joined RB in March of this year, that I am still painting…I am strictly a studio painter…this past winter I did a new collection on canvas for my website and thought that would be it..then I joined RB and here we are…

  • I too am a studio painter. Like you then I first joined RB, I had a nice back log of paintings I could post. Now what you see is what has just come off the easel. So it comes a bit slower now.
