Where you been boy...?

I can can only imagine that someone has asked that question….lol. Sorry, but with family coming in for the holidays etc, I decided to give myself a bit of an unannounced break. That’s right, just disappeared off the online radar so to speak. Some might ask did you not paint any at all? Actually I was setting those canvases on fire right up until a few days before Christmas. Seems as though I always manage to have 3 or 4 commission pieces that will be Christmas gifts for someone, and I hesitate to post these images in fear that a recipient might see their gift….not because I’m under a false delusion that everyone I know is checking my redbubble site daily, but it’s that damn facebook. Seems like I can’t even go to the bathroom without at least 10 friends posting on FB wanting to know…

Just FYI

Truly no response needed. Just a quick note to let everyone know that from August 7 to August 11 will basically be off line and on the road. Driving to PA to pick up granddaughters, Stephanie and Sarah and bringing them back to NC. Chat with everyone around Monday.

I'm Backkkkkkkk...

Sorry if anyone thought I was just being rude, or perhaps simply wondered why I haven’t been active on RB lately. We’ve been on the road driving through places like
Columbia SC, Atlanta GA, Birmingham AL, then visited family in York AL, Meridian, MS, Macon, MS, Batesville, MS, Oxford, MS, and a friend in Memphis, TN. We stopped at Oxford, AL to join an aunt of mine for lunch on the trip back home. Great time, loved seeing all the family, but so very glad to be home. I’ll catch up a few days worth and just have to apologize for missing the other, however if there is a special piece you wish for me to see, pop me a B-mail and let me know and I’ll head over to your profile and look it up.

OOPS I'm still painting

Some of you may remember reading about what OOPS is, if not let me refresh your memory or inform you if this is the first you’ve heard. I live in the state of North Carolina in the US. The particular county in which I live is called Onslow. OOPS stands for Onslow Outdoor Painter’s Society. It, in a nutshell, is a active plein aire painting group. They invite all local painters to join in. The group collects no fees, it simply operates a blog site, http://oopsnc.blogspot.com/ in which they can interact with members and post the next painting site and the date. Because of the possiblity of nasty weather, January’s site was planned as an indoor event, but keeping with the spirit of plein aire painting the studio at our local Arts Council was set up with four different still life arrang…

OOPS

Normally this would mean that I’ve screwed something up. Well at least not yet would be my reply. In this case OOPS is what I’m going to be involved with later today. OOPS stands for Onslow Outdoor Painters Society. Onslow is the name of the county in which I live. This group of artists (some of Onslow County’s very best I might add) are dedicated to Plein Aire painting. They meet once a month at a prearranged scenic location and paint. They are not at all snobby as they encourage anyone who paints to join them. They maintain a web site that announces the painting locations as well as some fun photo reviews of their past gatherings. I"ll post a follow up to let you know how I did the evening. Here’s their info page if your curious.
