Your way of painting flowers is just….divine. Th treatment of colours is really your specialty as well as giving the specific touch of life to them, as if…... ready to be picked up !

There is something really special to me about this painting Jim…I am thinking of works from the Arts and Crafts movement, except that the style of your painting is more relaxed..it reminds me of the stunning pieces of majolica they created which I absolutely love and own..it would be glorious fired in a kiln..

  • Jim Phillips replied

This is gorgeous Janis. I’ll truly honored that you would in any way compare my work too it. Very kind compliment, thank you very much.

You’ve made this painting look deceptively simple to paint. The overall impression is charming and casual. I love the limited palette, too. Great work, jim.

  • Jim Phillips replied

Glad you recognized the limited palette Douglas. I used basicly just yellow orka and green, with just alittle bit of payne’s gray to help shape the flower pedals. Good eye Douglas, thank you.

Wonderful composition, Jim. This is so natural and believable. I love it!
