This is so pretty – I like the light hitting the top of the rose.

Janis Zroback
Gorgeous close-up Jim….I can always recognize your distinctive brush strokes
Jim Phillips replied
There are many whose work I can now recognize at a glance, however not all your work can I do so, and that’s really a compliment. You change up your presentation and try different techniques enough to keep everyone on their toes. I know you meant this only as a compliment and that’s certainly the only way I take it, so thank you Janis.
Nancy Polanski
Jim! This picture is so wonderful! I wonder what you have done with this. Is it hanging somewhere? If not, it should be! It’s lovely!
Jim Phillips replied
I try to matt and frame most of my work, as to I never know what might sell or I need quickly for a show. But occassionly my wife steals one to replace on her walls. lol (She likes roses) Right now it’s still taped on my easel. Thanks Nancy.
Douglas Hunt

Janis Zroback
It is a compliment….I meant is as such….
Jim Phillips replied
I know that!!!! I was trying to compliment you back by pointing out that even though I have a very recognizable style, as do many other painters here on RB, that yours has a boarder range because of technique and skill levels and your willingness to try different things. lol luv ya girl. I guess I should have just said, ” Thank you Janis,” at least until I can learn to master the English language more effectively. lol
Janis Zroback
And I am compulsively anxious about whether people understand what I mean… :))).. but actually when you can’t see someones face it makes it very difficult…I read and reread anything I write before I save it, but still there are sometimes misunderstandings….it just can’t be helped…
