St Sophia Cathedral in Kiev

St Sophia Cathedral in Kiev

Watercolour

It’s been almost 10 years since I was in the Ukraine, but one of the most memorable sites I visited was St Sophia Cathedral in Kiev. There are seven beautiful golden domes that can be viewed from a higher viewpoint and catacombs that can be explored underground. I own a watercolour of that higher view that I bought from a sidewalk artist for ten American dollars and it proudly hangs in my home today.

St Sophia Cathedral in Kiev belongs to the following groups:

Fine Arts, First Things, JUST WATERCOLOURS - 2 art in 24 hrs, Landscape Painting, Old farts of redbubble, Realist Traditional Art and Water Media (Paintings by hand only) Available for sale as

Greeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

Thank you Evelina, you know I probably won’t contribute that often, but it would be a honor to join, if for no other reason than to view to art and photography of others. Luda has offered to let me paint some of her Ukrainian photos, so there will be some entries.

No worries! I don’t live there and only went back twice in almost 20 years. Eastern eggs, poppies and sunflowers are among Ukrainian symbols! There are tons of Ukrainian churches all over the world so there’s always a chance! :)
