Duck Blind at Sunrise

Duck Blind at Sunrise

Original 14”x11” Acrylic on Canvas Board

In the northeast corner of North Carolina sets a large coastal body of water called the Ablemarle Sound. It is a duck hunter’s heaven. Don’t think I’ve lost my sense of perspective, for this is not shack sitting in the swallows, it’s a duck blind. Only large enough for two men to sit in close quarters to each other. The long cut out is placed so their shotguns can extend outside the blind. You can find these blinds thoughout the low waters of the sound.

Duck Blind at Sunrise belongs to the following groups:

Acrylic Painting, All of North Carolina, Landscape Painting, Realist Paintings About Water and Seachanges Available for sale as

Greeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

Its like the closeness men get to each other here when ice fishing…I love the colours and light in this painting…it’s like paradise or “heaven” according to your description….wonderfully evocative of the peace that steals over the water at sunset…

  • Jim Phillips replied

Wonderful comment Janis, thank you very much.

a beauty Jim…like how the sun glances off the clouds….......and water…......
so peaceful you can almost hear the quacks fo the ducks…..........
Hope that is not Dick in the Blind

  • Jim Phillips replied

Although I’ve done my share of duck hunting around the Albemarle Sound I’ve actually never sat inside these particular blinds. They are used primarily by people who live in that area or by hunting clubs. I don’t see any guns peering out, so I don’t know if anybody is in there or not. There is a boat close by, so maybe.

  • kjgordon

    kjgordon

    Well regardless….........this is a beauty Jim…......encore…...........
I especially enjoy when you narriate and give the background of what the painting expresses….
I feel narriations add to art….............
