My name is Jim Phillips and I was born and raised in North Carolina, USA. I have lived in a number of communities across North Carolina, but have spent the past 35 years living near the coast in Jacksonville.
My formal education is a BS in Commercial Design, which has earned me a long and satisfying career of 35 years in the education field.
Now that I am retired, I will follow my true passion as a painter. I have been painting and experimenting with different art mediums ever since my college years, however, over the past couple of decades I have become most comfortable with watercolors and acrylics. I am teaching now (watercolors and acrylics,) just a few nights a week at a local community college just to keep my skills in tack and to keep myself out of trouble.
