  • That’s so true…I was routinely threatened by the return of my father by my frazzled mom! I am so glad you speak Duck….I was wondering just what was going on there…sleeping on the steps of the Student Union!

What a precious image, Karen!! would make a great mother’s day card! : )

  • Thank you! If only Hallmark would give me a call I would be happy to sell it to them for the next Mother’s Day! Funny….just like that mama duck, I recall doing that hover when my kids were still in cribs! I suppose we are not all that different!

Well yeah she hovers, she’s a Mallard, one of the most smart amazing dedicated mommy creatures on the planet, now here in Florida, we have Muscovy ducks, the most urban spoiled horrible parents on the planet, I could tell you stories but they are too horrific hehehe

    SUPER SWEET CAPTURE!!!

(Muscovy ducks stomp on your tomato plants and the babies will go cannibal if their siblings get hurt, it’s a nightmare)

YIKES, sorry about the rant :)

  • Thank you! And please, no worry about ranting! I am a rambler and I understand! Mallards are very protective mothers ( the geese even more so!) ….but, the daddies are less than helpful. I have seen many frazzled Mallard Moms…with 10 babies following her every move and then I see the “Daddies”. They are all lined up on a log just in the pond. They look like they are at a bar! AND, they will mate with any female. I have seen some very odd ducks…ducks I could not identify. I couldn’t identify them because they are Mallard Mutts! Anyway, thank you for the lovely comment and, as you can see, I am a rambler!
