Slavery at The Carnton Plantation by

Carnton Plantation slaves had living quarters behind the ‘big house’…this is a shot of the interior of the original building and many (if not most) of the items in this photo are original and accurately depict the family life, of those fortunate enough to remain together, during the 1800’s.

This is so well done. Your handling of the light helps the reality ooze from the image.

  • Thank you! You are very kind! To me light is one of the most expressive parts of a photo…always looking for it…not always finding!
