Great Falls Tavern in the winter.
Great Falls National Park, Maryland side.
This Tavern was used in the 1800’s as a rest stop for people traveling up the canal by boat along the Potomac River outside of Washington, DC. The lock gate keepers also lived here and operated the locks of the canal. Today it’s a museum in the Great Falls National Park ( which is in both Virginia and Maryland bound by the Potomac River).
